Carbenicillin inhibits the cell-wall synthesis (peptidoglycan cross-linking) by inactivating transpeptidase on the inner surface of the bacterial cell membrane.Carbenicillin is a white to slightly yellow, hygroscopic powder soluble in water and in alcohol.
