Quantitative sandwich ELISA for measuring Rabbit Total alkaline phosphatase (TALP) in samples from cell culture supernatants, serum, whole blood, plasma and other biological fluids.
Alkaline phosphatase (ALP, ALKP, ALPase, Alk Phos) (EC 3.1.3.1) or basic phosphatase is a homodimeric protein enzyme of 86 kilodaltons, containing two zinc atoms crucial to its catalytic function per monomer, and is optimally active at alkaline pH environments. As its name indicates, ALP functions best under alkaline pH environments and has the physiological role of dephosphorylating compounds. The enzyme is found across a plethora of organisms, prokaryotes and eukaryotes alike, with the same general function but in different structural forms suitable to the environment they function in.
